Week of  March 18 to March 22

 Dear Kindergarten Parents,

One of our favorite times of the year is spring. This is a good time to plant a garden in your yard or in a pot. It is so fun to watch the excitement in your kindergarten student as they watch how their seeds have   grown. This is a great family activity and builds responsibility for our kinder students because the gardens will need to be watered and those weeds will need to be plucked out. Begin to think of a place to plant and you will have a wonderful crop in a few months.

The Kindergarten Easter Brunch is on April 12. This is the Friday before we break for spring vacation. Our room moms are planning a wonderful celebration for our Kindergarten families. We will have an egg hunt at 8:45 followed by our brunch. See the Shutter-fly site to help with brunch type food. Also, indicate how many people from your family will be attending. All Kinder students need to bring in a dozen treat filled plastic eggs. Preschool siblings are welcome to participate in this activity. Please supply a dozen treat filled eggs for them as well. Everyone who brings a dozen can hunt for a dozen.

Dad or a family member is needed to help on April 26th. We will have a great time together creating something special for our moms for Mother’s Day. We will finish by 9:00 am so you can get to work before it is too late.  Please send in a white t-shirt that mom would wear. No buttons please.

Remember to read each night, practice sight words. Writing 2-5 sentences and drawing a picture to go with the picture will help immensely to be ready to meet the challenges in first grade.

In His Service,

Mrs. Cole, Mrs. Phillips and Ms. Simon
